Day. #L#
The donation was presented by German Ambassador to Croatia Gebhardt
Weiss in the presence of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic. Weiss
stressed that on this feast day of St. Nicholas, the German
government once again showed a sign of human ties with Croatia and
the war-devastated Petrinja and its citizens.
The money donated by the German government will be used to rebuild
the Petrinja home housing psychiatric patients by spring next year.
The reconstructed building of the Moscenica primary school was
officially opened today.
These buildings are reconstructed through donations from German
charitable organisations ASB and THW, in co-operation with
Croatian companies, the government, Sisak-Moslavina County, and
the town of Petrinja.
Ambassador Weiss paid tribute to all charitable organisations
working on the reconstruction of war-devastated regions and
helping returnees normalise their lives.
President Mesic expressed his gratitude to the German government,
Ambassador Weiss, and the ASB and THW organisations. He said that
their actions contributed to the removal of the consequences of war
and that friendship without borders was the result of solidarity
shown in these actions.
Ambassador Weiss and President Mesic also presented gifts that were
donated by "Europapress holding" company.
