with the results of a new study on Croatia's economic transition, the President's Office reported on Thursday.
ZAGREB, Nov 28 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on
Thursday received representatives of the Vienna Institute of
Economic Studies (WIIW) who presented him and his associates as
well as a group of Croatian economic experts, with the results of a
new study on Croatia's economic transition, the President's Office
reported on Thursday. #L#
The study, "New Economic Movements and Competitiveness of
Croatia's Manufacturing Industry", conducted at the request of the
President's Office, a press release said.
This is the third report by the Viennese institute and it
concentrates on structural changes in Croatia's economy and
international competitiveness. Relatively weak success of
Croatia's manufacturing industry and the fall of its international
competitiveness seem to be the main conclusions of the analysis,
the press release continues.
In line with co-operation agreed to with the Viennese Institute, to
date two analysis of economic movements in Croatia have been
conducted. The aim of co-operation between the Institute and the
President's Office, as pointed out, offers a neutral and expert
view of Croatia's economic policies on a comparative basis.
The analysis, as announced, will be delivered to the government,
the National Bank and is available to the public on the Croatian
