The five-year term of office of Berkovic, who has been the first
Croatian Ambassador to Israel, expires.
President Katsav said that in the last five years, the bilateral
relations had passed the path from the initial difficulties to very
successful development.
Croatia is now perceived in Israel as a very friendly country,
according to a statement released by the ministry.
Israeli head of state pointed out the importance of last year's
visit of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic to Israel, and added that
he was planing to pay a return visit as soon as possible to Zagreb.
