Varazdin court sentenced Sisic in absentia to 20 years in prison and
issued an international search warrant which led to his arrest on
the Yugoslav-Hungarian border in May last year. The Hungarian
government then extradited him to Italy, which also requested his
extradition.
Should Sisic be sentenced in Italy, the families of the five persons
who were killed in the European Union helicopter will file a demand
to Yugoslavia for an amount of 40 million euros in compensation,
Sisic's Belgrade based attorney, Nemanja Aleksic, told Belgrade's
BK television on Sunday.
