ZAGREB, Nov 24 (Hina) - One and a half month before the year's end, Croatian citizens have filed more requests to have ruling verified as constitutional than in the entire year 2001. #L# Since the beginning of the year 2,626 cases have been received, while 2.567 were received last year. The biggest growth is marked by complaints of which there are 2,375 this year, while last year there were 1,910. The large number of complaints before the Constitutional Court is the court's new authority to obligatorily make decisions on constitutional complaints filed due to lengthy court processes, where it could set fines as a punishment. Last year, when the court would decide whether to or not solve a complaint for lengthy proceedings, 42 such complaints were filed, which this year, the number has risen to 334. This year the Constitutional Court has solved 1,600 cases. Court officials estimate that the number of solved cases would exceed last year's 1,904. (hina) lml
