Branko Lukovac, a former foreign minister and mentioned as possible
deputy prime minister in Montenegro, said that announcements by top
Croatian and Montenegrin officials of a temporary agreement for
Prevlaka and of the termination of the UN Mission of Observers on
the southern tip indicated a solution was just behind the corner.
The temporary agreement starts from the acknowledgement of both
Montenegro's and Croatia's rights and interests regarding Prevlaka
and the local sea waters, and envisages that the entire area be
demilitarised and jointly used for the development of tourism and
commerce, said Lukovac.
