Croatian Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic said this at a press
conference in Vienna which she held as part of her efforts to
promote Croatia's tourism offer for the Austrian market.
The press conference, which organised by the Vienna office of the
Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ), gathered representatives of
Austrian tour operators and representatives of the "Ferienmesse"
International Tourist Fair where Croatia will be the partner
country in January 2003.
Minister Zupan Ruskovic emphasised the traditional significance of
Austria's market for Croatia's tourism. There is a mild but stable
increase in the number of Austrian holiday-makers in Croatia, she
added. In the first nine months of this year, 652,000 Austrians (or
by one percent more than last year) visited Croatia. With 3.5
million overnight stays (two percent less than last year),
Austrians held fifth place amongst foreign tourists in Croatia.
