The minister informed the government about the results of this
year's tourist season and preparations for next year's season.
According to data from the National Tourist Board, in the first ten
months of this year there were 44 million overnight stays recorded,
which is four percent more than for the same period last year.
Minister Zupan-Ruskovic estimated that tourist revenue next year
could be three to five per cent higher than this year.
More than that cannot be expected because Croatia does not have the
capacities required, she explained, stating that Croatia was still
operating with one-fifth less capacity than prior to 1990.
She stated that the main task for the next season was to continue
improving Croatia's tourist image, ensuring better accommodation,
better offers and an extended season.
