The company's net profit in said period rose by 18% to 847.3 million
kuna (EUR112.97 million), while profit per share increased by 30%,
Kaspar said. The increase in income is primarily the result of a
51.6% rise in prescription drug sales (EUR310.66 million), while
overall sales increased by 33.7% to EUR493.33 million. The increase
in prescription drug sales is attributed to Pliva's two recent
acquisitions - Germany's AWD and Sidmak from the United States.
