According to some announcements, the parliament might decide on
some of the proposed appointments tomorrow.
The current head of the committee for finances and budget, Jadranko
Mijalic (HSLS), is to be replaced by a Social Democrat, Tonci
Zuvela. The head of the national security and internal policy
committee, Djurdja Adlesic (HSLS), is to be replaced by Ante Markov
of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS).
As Ante Simonic of the HSS became a Deputy Prime Minister, the
committee for education, science and culture at whose helm he used
to be is to have a new head, Hrvoje Kraljevic of the Libra party.
Another Libra MP, Jozo Rados, should replace Milanka Opacic (SDP)
at the helm of the credentials and privileges committee, as she is
to replace her party colleague Gordana Sobol at the helm of the
committee for gender equality. Sobol became a minister in the
meantime.
If the Sabor adopts the changes, the HSLS will remain the only
parliamentary party without any presidential office of the
committees. The HSLS has announced it will sue the Croatian
parliament before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of
Europe in that case.
