In the early hours of Thursday, the suspect transported a group of
14 Turks, eight Chinese, and two Macedonians across the Sutla river
in a tractor, taking them to an abandoned house near Bizeljsko, from
where they were supposed to be taken to Brezice. The police,
however, stopped them.
Two Slovene drivers who took part in the operation managed to
escape. After proceedings in Slovenia, the illegal migrants will be
returned to Croatia.
Thanks to stepped up co-operation, Slovene and Croatian police
forces this year managed to reduce illegal migrations by 70 percent
as against last year.
