SFOR spokesman Yves Vanier said in Sarajevo on Tuesday that after he
spent ten days in custody in an SFOR base, Sabahudin Fiuljanin was
handed over to the Interior Ministry of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina. Fiuljanin was arrested on October 26 on suspicion of
having monitored SFOR facilities in northern Bosnia, where US
soldiers are deployed.
During a search of his house in a village near Brcko, SFOR troops
found a gun for which he had no permit and a hand-held rocket
launcher.
Spokesman Vanier confirmed that there was other evidence against
Fiuljanin which proved that he represented a threat to SFOR's
security.
According to the Sarajevo media, Fiuljanin is from the central
Bosnian village of Bocinje, where a strong community of former
Mujahedeen, both locals and foreigners, used to exist.
Vanier said that SFOR expected local authorities to continue
investigating the case in order to establish Fiuljanin's actual
intentions.
