THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The spokesman for the Hague-based

Bobetko case. #L#
There is no information available at the moment about that matter,
Landale told Hina from The Hague when asked had the Appeals Chamber
undertaken any steps with regard to the objections lodged by
Croatia in the Bobetko case.
After an indictment was issued in September against General Janko
Bobetko whom the Hague prosecution has charged as a commander for
war crimes committed in Medak Pocket in 1993, Croatia lodged two
objections requesting that the warrant for his arrest and the
indictment be re-examined because Bobetko's participation in the
proceedings could be ensured with milder measures of pressure such
a regular court summons.
Croatia also believes that the judge had implicitly confirmed
incorrect details on the indictment and legal claims that the Medak
Pocket operation was planned as an illegal action for the purpose of
criminal objectives.
The president of the Hague Tribunal, Claude Jorda, made a decision
in October and appointed an Appeals Chamber consisting of five
judges who are to decide on Croatia's objections.
Regulations and procedures do not specify any particular deadline
by which the Appeals Chamber must make its decision.
