The documents provide non-discriminatory guarantees to the right
to work, appropriate working conditions, safety and protection on
the job, fair salaries, organisation, collective bargaining,
professional orientation, professional training, health care and
social security.
The charter, which has been ratified by 21 Council of Europe member-
countries, is a part of the European Union's legislature.
By ratifying the charter, Croatia has joined the circle of
countries which are raising the level of protection of economic and
social rights.
The government also established a commission for the construction
of industrial and commercial zones, and appointed several new
officials.
Mario Nobilo has been appointed assistant foreign minister at the
Third Administration. Damir Gorseta, the head of the Croatian Mine
Centre, has been relieved of duty and replaced by Otto Jungwirth.
