Suica expressed satisfaction with the medallion, but at the same
time expressed regret that nobody apologised to the town of
Dubrovnik for an incident which happened in June. During a visit to
Dubrovnik on June 11, UNESCO chief director Koichiro Matsura
presented the mayor with a 1979 UNESCO medallion with the
inscription "Dubrovnik-Yugoslavia", on the occasion of Dubrovnik
being included in the UNESCO world heritage list.
