PARIS, Oct 15 (Hina) - UNESCO Director-General Koichiro Matsuura in
Paris on Tuesday presented Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula
with a medallion for Dubrovnik City. #L#
Matsuura wanted to present the medallion last June while visiting
the southern Croatian seaport, but the medallion bore the incorrect
legend "Dubrovnik Yugoslavia".
"Mr Matsuura has now presented me with a medallion which bears the
legend that it should have borne back then, 'Dubrovnik Croatia',"
said Picula, adding that his talks with the UNESCO official did not
mention that "unpleasant episode" much.
The talks addressed Croatia's cooperation with UNESCO. It was
concluded that UNESCO is one of the channels for the promotion of
Croatia.
