"Although I am withdrawing from the office of HND president, I am
not withdrawing from politics," Manolic said at the assembly.
Speaking about the current political situation, Manolic said that
the opposition was too "flaccid and broken up". He warned the
government that it still had not created a coherent solution to the
economic crisis.
The HND adopted a new party statute which will make it possible to
legalise fractions within the party and annul the disciplinary
measure of being banned from the party.
Canjuga said that the new HND programme declaration entitled "A
Free Man's Programme" would be based on a programme from 1994, when
the party was established, but that reform also introduced new
political goals and principles.
The HND will advocate a direct democracy, lessening red tape and the
number of ministries, a European Croatia, an economically safe and
employed man, and the demilitarisation of this part of Europe.
During a discussion on the electoral programme, Academician Dusan
Bilandzic, a guest at the HND assembly, said that this is a "small
party in membership, but a big one in ideas," and that, were he
younger, he would join the party.
