Pankretic said his recent visit to Belgrade and talks with his
Serbian counterpart Dragan Veselinov about the liberalisation of
trade in farming and food products between Croatia and Yugoslavia
were successful. The agreement on the liberalisation of trade in
farming and food products creates basic conditions for the signing
of a bilateral free trade agreement.
Before the agreement on free trade goes into force, which should
happen in the first three months of 2003, it is necessary to sign an
agreement on trade in industrial products, Pankretic said. It is
expected that the final round of talks on that agreement will be
held in Zagreb in early November.
