A report on the external examination and autopsy of Nenad Knezevic,
included in the prosecution's files and was signed by Dr. Simun
Andjelinovic, a physician at the Split hospital and expert witness,
indicates that Knezevic's death was violent and due to acute
pneumonia caused by injuries.
The external examination and autopsy found skin abrasions,
contusions to the face and head, and cerebral swelling - serious
injuries caused by blunt and hard objects.
Abrasions and contusions were found on the entire body. Light
injuries were also found - bullet wounds on the right forearm and
lower leg.
A report on the autopsy of Gojko Bulovic, signed by the same doctor,
indicates that Bulovic's death was also violent and caused by
injuries. Contusions were found on the body, as well as fractures
caused by strikes with blunt and hard objects.
The results of an examination by coroner Ivanovic, today's witness,
who examined Djordje Katic on September 7, 1992, show that Katic
received injuries, the number of which is impossible to prove, with
blunt and hard objects. By nature, the injuries are light, but in
the whole, represent serious harm to the person's physical
condition.
Fingers on Katic's both hands showed several small scabs where,
according to Ivanovic, electricity was passed through the body,
causing the victim to shake and lose consciousness. He was also
subjected to various forms of humiliation and abuse. He was forced,
completely exhausted, to run around the prison courtyard, to enter
a dog house and bark, and to use the Ustashi salute.
The trial continues Wednesday.
