Education and security are of crucial significance for Bosnia's
future, Cruz said and confirmed that the OSCE would continue to be
active in Bosnia regardless of the fact that the organisation had
ended the most important role in the country after the war -
organising elections.
Bosnian Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija said the OSCE would help
authorities in Bosnia to fulfil conditions necessary to join NATO,
the Partnership for Peace programme and to accelerate dialogue with
the European Union which would eventually lead to Bosnia's joining
the association.
International mediation and assistance in the reorganisation of
the education system in Bosnia is necessary, Lagumdzija said. He
the current education system, which practically reflects ethnic
divisions established by the war, to be changed.
Lagumdzija said he expected a package of education reforms to be
completed and presented in a month at the latest.
