This was stated at Thursday's round table discussion on economic
cooperation between Zagreb and Mainz, held as part of a visit by a
Mainz city delegation to Zagreb and the 35th anniversary of
cooperation between the two cities.
Germany is the second most important foreign investor in Croatia,
with around 1.8 billion USD worth of direct investments made over
the past ten years.
Last year's trade between the two countries amounted to 2.2 billion
USD, with Croatia's exports accounting for around 700 million, and
imports 1.5 billion dollars. According to these data, Germany is
the leading exporter to Croatia. In the first seven months of 2002,
Croatia's exports to Germany totalled 342.9 billion dollars, while
imports amounted to 961 million.
