Today's meeting was cancelled because the vice premier and head of
the council for cooperation with the ICTY, Goran Granic, is not in
Croatia, and Prime Minister Ivica Racan has other engagements,
Tomcic said in the parliament.
Relations with the Hague-based tribunal should be discussed within
the framework of a Croatian Democratic Union initiative to amend a
constitutional law which defines relations with the ICTY.
Relations with the ICTY are the central political topic since the
ICTY sent an indictment against General Janko Bobetko about 15 days
ago.
MPs discussed the indictment last Friday and unanimously supported
the government's activities and intention, due to the character of
Bobetko's indictment, to instigate a legal dispute with the ICTY.
