of the exhibition "Artists Ahead of Their Time from the History of
the Russian Avant-Garde and the Savage Style" in Zagreb's Klovicevi

The exhibition, which closes on Nov. 3, was opened by Zagreb mayor
Vlasta Pavic. Among those in attendance were Prime Minister Ivica
Racan, Deputy PM Ante Simonic, Culture Minister Antun Vujic,
representatives of the Zagreb and the Moscow city authorities, and
Russian Ambassador Eduard L. Kuzmin.
The display features Russian Avant-Garde works created between
1900 and 1932, one of the key periods in 20th century art, and works
of the so-called savage style, created between 1960 and 1980.
Featured artists include Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Mayakowski,
Michail Larionov, Natalia Goncharova, and Vasili Kandinsky.
The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, posters, drawings,
magazines, and books.
