ZAGREB, Oct 2 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan on Wednesday said that Croatia wanted to reach a satisfactory solution to the problem with the Hague-based tribunal regarding the indictment against General Janko Bobetko by using all legal instruments available in keeping with the Statute and Regulations of the tribunal without politicising the entire matter, the Government's Public and Media Relations Office reported. #L# Racan said this during talks with the president of the House of Representatives of the Royal Belgian Parliament, Herman De Croo, adding that co-operation with the Hague-based tribunal was an international obligation that Croatia intended to respect as it had until now, the statement said. "The democratic government in Croatia wants to sanction every crime committed during the Homeland War and Croatia currently has several trials in process for war crimes committed by the Croatian side," Racan said during the talks. Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic advised the Belgian delegation that the Croatian side considered it a problem that the legitimacy of military operations in the Homeland War were being qualified. "We cannot bring into question the foundations of the Croatian state, its defence, the Homeland War and the legitimacy of actions undertaken during the war," both the premier and his deputy said. The statement also says that the Belgian delegation praised all reform processes and Croatia's firm resoluteness to access the European Union and NATO. They thanked Croatia for its sincerity in presenting the situation relating to the indictment against General Bobetko however, they warned that Croatia was obliged to respect its international obligations and cooperate with the Hague Tribunal which will not lead to doubting the positive progress and further development on all fields.
