"Through such communications we will find solutions which will be
in the interest of everyone," Djukanovic told the Fonet agency,
adding, however, this would not be the final solution. He said a
temporary solution at this moment would be "very useful".
"I am confident that the time when we needed monitoring from abroad
is behind us and that we will be mature and show that we are capable
of protecting peace and reviving good-neighbourly relations on our
own," Djukanovic said.
The Croatian Foreign Ministry requested that international
observers withdraw from Prevlaka on October 15. According to the
Fonet agency, Yugoslav and Montenegrin representatives said they
would not oppose such a proposal should a compromise on Prevlaka's
status be reached by then.
