The Rijeka event was the sixth and last working meeting of the
European network of healthy cities in the third stage of the
project.
The purpose of the WHO project, which began in Zagreb fifteen years
ago, is to render cities healthier and more comfortable places to
live in.
The European network includes about 50 'healthy' cities, with
another 1,200 members in national networks.
The results this project has so far achieved were presented by the
project's head, Agis Tsouros.
