GRACISTE, Sept 27 (Hina) - Supreme Court president Ivica Crnic told participants in an annual meeting of county and municipal court judges in Pula on Friday he believed Croatian courts were capable of processing war crimes. #L# "However, Croatian courts cannot and must not be blamed when some key witness suddenly loses his/her memory, or when there is no evidence to make a ruling. Without evidence there can be no trial at all," said Crnic. He stated that prior to every trial, the police and State Prosecutor's Office have to do their part of the job properly. Crnic called on the media and the public to show more confidence in courts and let them work in peace, saying this would make the results of court proceedings the same as in any other civilised and democratic state.
