During August, the SSSH had on several occasions reacted to the
increase in prices of electricity and gas, warning that this would
negatively affect the expenses of economy, as well as the citizens'
life standard.
The direct influence of the increase in life standards, according
to union assessments, had moved from one to 1.5 percent of increase
per month.
In this context, the Croatian electric power company HEP had not
respected the agreed increase of prices, but had transferred the
expenses of business uneconomicalness onto citizens ant the
overall economy, the SSSH said.
