Speaking at a news conference after the founding assembly of the DC
Opatija branch, Granic stressed his party "supports the
government's decision to begin a legal dispute with the Hague
Tribunal".
Croatian Vice-Premier Goran Granic said late Friday night he would
suggest to the government to proclaim the indictment as
unconstitutional and to enter a legal dispute with the tribunal.
DC president advocated amendments to the Constitutional Law on
cooperation with the tribunal.
According to him, Croatia should cooperate with the tribunal, but
"not sent people to The Hague as soon as indictments against them
arrive".
The Croatian Supreme Court should decide on the justification of
the indictment, Mate Granic added.
