OSIJEK, Sept 21 (Hina) - The Main Committee ("Glavni Stan") of the opposition Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) has concluded that the indictment against General Janko Bobetko is the completion of a process which commenced with the
Sabor's adoption of the constitutional law on cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal, and this right-wing party holds everybody who has wrongly assessed the tribunal's importance responsible for the current state of affairs.

After the HSP main committee's session in Osijek, HSP leader Anto
Djapic said that if no national consensus on the Hague-based
tribunal might be reached "a solution should be sought only at a
referendum."
Djapic said at a news conference that his party "will take care that
the incumbent government should not use the current situation as a
smoke screen for disguising its failures and inability to overcome
the economic crisis."
Commenting on Croatia's relations with Slovenia, he said the
temporary fishing regime in Piran Bay is "a dangerous precedent in
Croatia's international relations, given that it allows Slovene
police to patrol and control a part of the Croatian territorial
waters."
"This concession only aggravates Croatia's position in possible
arbitration, as the control of Slovene police and Slovene fishing
in the Croatian sea, according to international law, mean special
circumstances on the grounds of which the Croatian sovereignty
could be denied in that part of the Adriatic," Djapic said.
That is why the HSP insists on the urgent changes to the fishing
section of a bilateral agreement on the local border traffic and
cooperation and on a parliamentary discussion on the temporary
fishing regime.
The HSP Main Committee decided to propose to the government to
accept the United States' demand on granting immunity to American
troops before the recently-established International Criminal
Court (ICC), but the government should also asks, in turn, for the
American support to bids to stop criminal processing of Croatian
veterans before the Hague-based ICTY.
