Commenting on the conclusion of the Kosovo part of Milosevic's
trial, del Ponte said in an interview for "Koha Ditore", that there
would be witnesses to testify on events in Kosovo during the Croatia
and Bosnia part of the trial.
The ICTY chief prosecutor expressed belief that by the end of this
year, the tribunal would issue the first indictment against
Albanians who had committed crimes in Kosovo. She said an
investigation was underway and that she was in contact with a team
of ICTY investigators in Kosovo.
Del Ponte said the ICTY still had problems in cooperation with
authorities in Belgrade, but expressed hope that good cooperation
would be established by the end of the year.
She said ICTY teams in Macedonia were also faced with problems, but
expressed hope that cooperation with the new government would be
better.
Del Ponte said the ICTY would work on the schedule, namely issue all
indictment by 2004. She said this would depend on the cooperation
with others.
