The agency called "Fibro" conducted the poll throughout the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, among 1,500 respondents in
Sarajevo, Mostar, Capljina, Livno, Vitez, Orasje, Zepce and
Tuzla.
The second-ranked is Mijo Anic, a candidate of the New Croatian
Initiative (NHI) and the incumbent federal defence minister with
the gathered 12 percent.
The candidate of the Croat democratic union for prosperity, Mladen
Ivankovic, known as one of brothers who lead the successful meat
industry "Lijanovici", has gathered seven (7) percent of the votes,
according to Fibro's poll.
Another opinion poll, conducted by American National Democratic
Institute, shows that Serb and Bosniak (Muslim) voters in the
Federation prefer Ivankovic as the Croat member in the state three-
man Presidency.
The NHI candidate Anic has described the opinion polls conducted so
far as incorrect and biased.
Owing to a small number of Croats in the Federation as well as to the
system of the election which will be applied at the coming
elections, set for 5 October, it is possible that the voting of
other ethnic groups (Bosniaks, Serbs and others) will crucially
affect the election of the Croat representative to the presidency,
which was not the case at the past elections.
