The unavoidable topic of all the talks was the development of events
regarding Iraq.
Picula and his Andoran counterpart Julio Minoves-Triquelli also
discussed the expansion of economic cooperation. Andora might
invest in Croatian tourism, which Picula's visit to Andora next
January is expected to incite.
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Cuba, Vilayat Guliyev and
Felipe Perez Roque respectively, agreed with Picula that an annual
trade of US$200,000 did not meet either wishes or expectations.
Picula and Roque also discussed cooperation between their
ministries and an air transport agreement.
Vietnam, a major rice manufacturer, is interested in cooperating
with the Croatian food-processing industry, Foreign Minister
Nguyen Dy Nien said.
This afternoon Picula departed for New Orleans, where on Sunday he
is to meet representatives of the Croatian diaspora in the US south.
On Monday Picula will open a honorary consulate in New Orleans.
