The Polish Ambassador to Croatia, Jerzy Chmielewski, said that
Polish exhibitors, a total of 32 of them, were arriving in Croatia
with concrete loan and cooperation officers, as well as
possibilities of creating new jobs in Croatia, since they were
looking for sub-contractors in South and Eastern Europe.
An international tender should be issued at the end of September for
the purchase of 300 fire engines for Croatia.
Poland's special vehicles company Wawrzaszek Piotr expressed
interest in the project, and offered cooperation to Croatian
companies in the production of fire engines and equipment for third
countries.
A Polish helicopter producer, Swindik", will hold a presentation in
Zagreb on September 19, showing prototypes of the SW-4- helicopter
for the police, defence and border officers. Poland is the only
country to produce helicopters in Central Europe. It is offering
cooperation to Croatia in the production of helicopters,
Chmielewski said.
He added that the Polish government had offered Croatia to provide a
loan for the purchase of the helicopters.
This would be a pilot project of a privileged loan for which the
Croatian government would provide a guarantee. Croatia is the first
country to which Poland has offered such a loan.
