The issue of the remaining war crime indictees is of crucial
importance for NATO and the Partnership for Peace programme,
Robertson said.
He said he sent a letter to Yugoslav Foreign Minister Goran
Svilanovic last spring in which he said that allies firmly believe
that the Yugoslav government should continue and ensure full
cooperation with the international tribunal in The Hague,
including clear and transparent policy of the Yugoslav Army in that
sense. All measures must be take to bring war criminals to justice,
namely Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadjic, Roberston told the
daily.
He said that a law on cooperation with the Hague-based tribunal,
more transparent relations with the Republika Srpska and the
strengthening of relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina were some of
the positive examples which accelerated the process of
Yugoslavia's possible joining the Partnership for Peace
programme.
