ZAGREB, Sept 3 (Hina) - The costs of living of a four-member family in August were 5,029 kuna (EUR680), which was 0.6 percent less than in July, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) said on Tuesday.

The drop was the result of seasonal cuts in the prices of food and
clothing.
The SSSH reminded that the average salary for June, according to the
Central Bureau of Statistics, had been 3,772 kuna (EUR510).
The highest costs of living in August were recorded in Pula (5,589
kuna) and Dubrovnik (5,354 kuna), and the lowest in Osijek (4,818
kuna) and Zagreb (4,762 kuna).
In August, a four-member family had to earmark 1,732 kuna for food,
1,488 kuna for housing, 627 kuna for education and culture, 490 kuna
for clothing, 441 kuna for transport, and 253 kuna for personal
hygiene.
