The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a new tariff system for power supply under which the price of electricity for households would increase by an average nine percent. The new tariff system will become effective on September 1. According to the new system, the price of kWh for single-tariff metres will be 60 lipa, 64 lipa for dual-tariff meters during daytime and 32 lipa during the night. All households will pay a uniform 15-kuna monthly compensation. Economy Minister Ljubo Jurcic said this proposal was in line with last week's government decision to turn down a proposal by the HEP power utility company whereby the price of electricity for households was to increase by an average 15.2 percent.
