ZAGREB, Aug 28 (Hina) - The president of the Democratic Centre (DC) party, Mate Granic, on Wednesday again called on Prime Minister Ivica Racan and the Croatian government to back out of an initialled agreement on the state border
with Slovenia as soon as possible and advise the Slovene government of this in writing in order to diminish the negative effect of the agreement on Croatia's position in future international arbitration.

party, Mate Granic, on Wednesday again called on Prime Minister

agreement on the state border with Slovenia as soon as possible and
advise the Slovene government of this in writing in order to
diminish the negative effect of the agreement on Croatia's position

Speaking at a press conference at the party's headquarters, Granic
said as many as 15,500 people had signed a petition launched by the
DC demanding that the agreement be revoked.
Granic called on all political parties and associations to support
"the initiative to defend the fundamental national interests" and
reminded that the DC would continue collecting signatures until the
premier and government responded to their demand.
