ZAGREB, Aug 12 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Monday received Moldovan counterpart Vladimir Voronin, who is on a two-day return visit to Croatia. The two heads of state signed an agreement on trade and economic
cooperation between the two countries.

Both presidents described today's talks as constructive, open, and
conducive to expansion in bilateral and economic cooperation.
Also today, the presidents of the Croatian and Moldovan chambers of
commerce signed a cooperation agreement .
President Mesic said after the talks there were no open issues
between Croatia and Moldova.
"Moldova is interested in Croatia's experience in tourism and the
building of ports in Croatia, while Croatia is interested in
Moldova's food-processing industry," said Mesic.
He announced a free trade agreement would be signed in the near
future.
President Voronin said Moldova attached great importance to
"intensifying relations with Croatia due to its importance in the
Balkans and the progress it has achieved in the process of Euro-
Atlantic integration."
Speaking about European integration, President Mesic said this
process should be accompanied by South Eastern Europe's economic
revival.
He added that even though Croatia and Moldova did not share a joint
border, they could cooperate in all regional initiatives.
Voronin said he was satisfied that Croatian-Moldovan trade would
soon step up.
The two presidents also talked about security cooperation, the
problem posed by illegal migrations, and global issues.
