ZAGREB, Aug 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Helsinki Committee's council
for public relations on Thursday described Sisak County Court
President Danko Kovac's conduct as the severe violation of the
right of the public to information, when he detained three
corespondents preventing them from doing their job. #L#
On Wednesday, Kovac detained for two hours in his room the three
journalists who reported about pre-trial procedure in alleged 1991
war crimes in Sisak.
The HHO's council regards that it is inadmissible that Kovac tried
to force the reporters to sign a statement on not publishing
relevant documents in the coming seven months, which he
subsequently labelled as the official secret and strictly
confidential.
