KNIN, Aug 5 (Hina) - On the occassion of Victory and Homeland Day, celebrated in memory of the 5th August 1995 when Croatia's forces liberated the town of Knin, which Serb rebels had held since early 1990s, the Croatian government delegation on Monday paid tribute to the fallen soldiers by the ceremony of hoisting a national flag at the citadel overlooking this southern town. #L# The flag was lifted by a Croatian officer. Present at this ceremony were Deputy Prime Minsiter Goran Granic, Defence Minister Zeljka Antunovic and delegations of the President of the Republic and Sabor. Defence Minister Antunovic called on the Croatian people to show unity regardless of, as she said, differences in the opinion, political stands and views of life. This is the only way for Croatia to be better, she added. In response to reporters' questions, Minister Antunovic said she did not expect "hot political autumn" but she promising that there would be "hot working autumn". She disagreed with a reporter's statement that nothing had been improved in Knin. She reposnded that "in Knin things are moving slowly, but they are moving, like elsewhere in Croatia." Prior to this ceremony, a solemn mass was said in St. Anthony's church in the town. (hina) ms
