ZAGREB, July 30 (Hina) - Regulations on the protection of "prstac", i.e. the date-shell from the Mytilidae family, came into force on 19 July this year, Croatia's environmental protection ministry reported on Tuesday.

Under the regulations, this shell becomes the protected species,
and there is a ban on the catch, killing and purchase as well as on
the export or import of this species.
Perpetrators who act against the said regulations will be fined and
ordered to pay penalties between 2000 and 200,000 kunas (274 to
27,400 euros).
