PRISTINA, July 23 (Hina) - UN Civil Administrator in Kosovo Michael Steiner on Tuesday stated that during his talks with Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Antonione who was visiting Kosovo, he had asked that Italy engage itself
in the fight against organised crime and smuggling in Kosovo.

Steiner on Tuesday stated that during his talks with Italian Deputy
Foreign Minister Robert Antonione who was visiting Kosovo, he had
asked that Italy engage itself in the fight against organised crime
and smuggling in Kosovo. #L#
The Italian diplomat Antonione said the Italian government was
willing to help in this regard.
In the past three months the Italian government offered help in
economic development and security in Kosovo. Help and support from
the Italian government will continue in the future, Antonione
said.
After the talks with the Italian official, Kosovo President Ibrahim
Rugova said that he had asked the Italian government to participate
in the process of developing Kosovo's economy.
Rugova asked for Italy's help in the construction of the Pristina-
Drac road which is not only significant to Kosovo and Albania but
for the entire region.
Premier Bajram Rexhepi thanked the senior Italian diplomat for the
assistance his country had given to Kosovo until now.
