ZAGREB, July 16 (Hina) - Ivo Skrabalo will not appear before the
Zagreb City Statutory Commission of the Croatian Social Liberal
Party (HSLS) because he believes this to be a mockery with the
decision to exclude him from the party being made in advance by
party president Drazen Budisa. #L#
In a letter Skrabalo forwarded to the Statutory Commission on
Tuesday, he notes that he received the call to stand before the
commission in order to ascertain the facts concerning a serious
violation of the HSLS Statute, and signed by party president Drazen
Budisa and the HSLS Grand Council on July 2.
In his letter to the Commission's president Nikola Petrovic,
Skrabalo claimed that Budisa never even attempted to establish
dialogue with HSLS MPs (who because of their dispute with Budisa
have set up their own party bench of Independent Liberals of HSLS
MPs).
To conduct dialogue with us, Skrabalo pointed out, would have been a
normal move in a party that considers itself liberal.
He reminded that Budisa had announced several times that all HSLS
MPs against whom proceedings were initiated, would be thrown of the
party.
Skrabalo pointed out that he had decided in advance that he would
not appeal against any decision made by the Statutory Commission
and in his letter he rejected the idea of a mass exit from HSLS as
announced in the media and that he would leave the decision of
exclusions from the party up to the party itself.
