ZAGREB, July 9 (Hina) - The Croatian Christian Democratic Union
(HKDU) on Tuesday protested to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic,
claiming it was incorrect of him not to invite the representatives
of this parliamentary party. #L#
"We believe that the President's attitude towards the HKDU is
incorrect, to say the least, because criteria by which regional
parties Slavonia-Baranja Croatian Party and Primorje-Gorski Kotar
Party as well as the Liberal Party had been called for the
consultations, while a party which has existed for quite some time,
the HKDU, is evidently not preferred by the President," the HKDU
said in a statement.
The party expects of Mesic to explain the criteria by which he
called presidents and members of parliamentary parties for
consultations "on such an important issue such as the formation of a
new government," the statement said.
