Minister Janez Kopac said on Thursday Croatia could sue Slovenia
for not delivering power from the nuclear power plant Krsko, but the
suits would be rendered invalid once Slovenia ratified an agreement
on the jointly-owned power plant. #L#
"Court proceedings against the plant are possible, but one should
not forget the fact that by ratifying the agreement on Krsko,
Croatia has waived the right to claim compensation for the power
that was not delivered by June 30 this year, which means that
possible claims will be rendered invalid once Slovenia ratifies the
agreement," Kopac said at a press conference after a regular
government session.
Kopac said the best solution in the current situation, with Croatia
having ratified the agreement and Slovenia not, to wait for the
ruling of the Slovene Constitutional Court on the document. Any
meeting with the Croatian side regarding the plant before the
court's ruling would not have any sense, Kopac said.
