NOVI VINODOLSKI, June 28 (Hina) - A three-day round table on social
dialogue and the future of Croatian Telecommunications (HT) began
on Friday in Novi Vinodolski under the auspices of the republic
union of Croatia Post and Telecommunication Employees.
Representatives of the ERUOFEDOP, the European union with two
million telecommunication employees as members are participating
at the conference. #L#
The round table will also be attended by unions from The
Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Slovakia.
Deutsche Telecom as the majority owner of HT caused many problems in
Croatia which also occurred in other countries where this company
appeared on the market, in Hungary and Slovakia.
Deutsche Telecom will dismiss 30 thousand employees by 2004 and has
ignored the unions as collocutors. Following the recent protests in
Bonn, Deutsche Telecom will be faced with further protests in
Berlin, union representatives said.
