The building was built with funding bequeathed by university
professor and agronomist Jure Petricevic who lived in Switzerland
as a political emigrant where he founded the "Adria Liberty
Library".
Vice President of MH, Vlaho Bogisic, expressed his satisfaction
that the building was completed in under a year and on the occasion
when that institution commemorated 160 years of its existence. He
announced that the new building would be used as a multimedia hall
and conference room with office space and a courtyard that can be
used as an outside theatre and so on. This will enable events to be
held in MH and make it as lively as in a beehive, he said.
