ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - Croatian Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac
and Irish Ambassador John Lawton on Friday signed an agreement on
avoiding double taxation and preventing income and property tax
fraud. #L#
The agreement, signed at the Finance Ministry, introduces numerous
benefits with regard to the taxation of all types of income and
improves conditions for increasing trade in goods and services.
For example, it enables Croatian construction and other similar
companies not to pay profit tax in Ireland if their works there last
less than a year, while Croatian air and shipping companies
transporting goods between Croatia and Ireland pay profit tax
exclusively in Croatia.
Last year's trade between Croatia and Ireland amounted to USD65
million. Of that amount, Croatian exports accounted for around
USD30 million, while imports totalled around USD35 million.
