The interest rate of the issue is 2.15 percent, which is the best
interest Croatian bonds have achieved on the Japanese market to
date.
A spread of 144 basic points has been agreed. The cost of the issue
is the lowest to date, i.e. 0.5 percent. This issue's managers are
the Daiwa and Nomura financial firms. The contract on the issue will
be signed in Tokyo tomorrow.
With the latest bond issue Croatia has once again opened the market
for foreign securities, said Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac. This
is the first placement of foreign bonds this year on the Japanese
market which was quite reserved towards foreigners following a
series of financial crashes, he said.
